Since opening Phyzique in 2004, owner and trainer Peter Legnavsky also opened the door to an active new world for a large sector of the Wanaka community. From self titled ‘non athletes’ - who have gone on to run marathons – former sportspeople returning to the fray, to top end Olympic competitors, the culture at Phyzique embraces all aspects of the benefits of physical training and fitness. The last six years have produced great results for clients - both in personal fitness goals and also in creating a strong social bond among people from all backgrounds and levels of ability. The gym’s training groups have been the starting point for some of the areas most active multisporters and sent many a couch potato out onto a newfound lifestyle of biking and running in the outdoor playground around Wanaka. Weights and Cardio room:

Our Fitnessworks range of gym weights equipment provides a wide variety of training options. This is supplemented by three ranges of dumbbells and three sets of free Olympic bars. The equipment suits conditioning for most sports which is a major focus for many of our clients. Being Wanaka- based we do specialise in providing conditioning for snowsports athletes. There is a wide variety of niche equipment that will keep everybody challenged and focused. Cardio equipment includes a range spin bikes, rowing and running machines and an eliptical crosstrainer. All the machines are in top condition and of a high commercial standard.

Floor space:

A large portion of the gym is dedicated to plain floor space. The floor space is used for various purposes such as core exercises, stretching, swiss balls, group training, physio and rehab.
